Samhain Lugh
Hello everyone, today is the first day of October (at least where I am, I know we're all in a lot of different timezones here lol) which these days seems to mean the first day of Halloween season haha. For those who do not know, Halloween actually originated in Ireland of all places! It was originally a Celtic festival called Samhain, held on the last day of fall, when the "veil" between our world and the Otherworld was believed to be at its thinnest. Supposedly, it is on this night that the Lord of Death, Donn, calls the souls of the deceased home to his domain. As the characters on my account are all based on Celtic, particularly Irish Celtic, mythology, I decided to make some fall and Halloween-themed portraits of each of my characters. This one is of Lugh =)
